The difference
Factory-floor training
Flooring has a low barrier to entry. Anybody can buy a knee kicker and a van and start bidding jobs tomorrow. Most crews in this trade learn by doing, which in practice means they learn on somebody's house.
Our installers go to the manufacturers and get trained in person, on the factory floor, on the specific products they install. They see how the product is made, what its tolerances are, and what the manufacturer's own people say goes wrong with it.
That matters most in the parts of the job you never see. Acclimation windows. Moisture tolerances. How flat a substrate has to be before a rigid core plank will stay locked. Expansion gaps. Which adhesive goes with which backing.
Get those wrong and the floor still looks perfect on the day you write the check. It comes apart in year two, and by then whoever installed it is not answering the phone.
How we work
The subfloor first, always
Every job starts by pulling the old floor and looking at what is underneath. Squeaks get screwed down. Soft spots get called out before they are covered up. If prep is needed, it goes in the number before we start rather than arriving as a change order in week two.
What we won't do
Sell you a job you don't need
Wrinkled carpet is usually two hours of stretching, not a new floor. Cracked grout over a flexing subfloor will crack again no matter how well it is regrouted, and we will say so. If a repair is the right answer, that is the one we will recommend.
